Write Out 2023: Poetry, Prose, and Parks!

Write Out ran October 8-22, 2023 and was organized around fun ways to play with prose and poetry in parks of all shapes and sizes. Here is a selection of highlights from the many places and spaces across the country where writers did #writeout in 2023.

Write Out welcomes a poet-Ranger team of the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monumentincluding Alabama State Poet Laureate Ashley Jones, Magic City Festival Earth Poet Nabila Lovelace, and Park Ranger Kat Gardiner. They will share their work with youth and other community members exploring the intersections of poetry, prose and place.
